Signal-Saru Jayaram & Bill Maher Get (Pleasantly) Surprisingly Advanced Citizen

Over five years with a half a trillion dollars of assets, [the elites] have paid collectively under $15 billion in taxes. This is the reason the game is rigged. They don’t pay any taxes anyway. You’ve got to start increasing the marginal tax increases for the wealthy. This is absurd. This is a scam. You’re being scammed, just like you were being scammed on free trade. Please don’t sit there and tell me, ‘No, I don’t want to raise taxes.’ Then stop the spending or just turn to your grandchildren and say, ‘I’m condemning you.  – Steve Bannon (2021)

On last week’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher and Attorney, Author, and Activist Sarumathi “Saru” Jayaraman had a most productive, wide-ranging conversation that would most certainly scare the living crap out of regime elitists, a broad-ranging economically populist back and forth about how massive corporations are raking in billions of dollars in profit while paying their people crumbs (all while charging the same amount, if not more, for their products and/or services, of course), corporate welfare (remember what we always tell you here at Advanced Citizenship, there is no real “free market” in Globalist American Empire – that’s a fabricated regime lie), and how American citizens are, as with everything, forced to pick up the tab in welfare when companies don’t pay workers enough. Here’s a brief excerpt (you can watch some of it here):

JAYARAMAN: Taxpayers spend $16 billion a year subsidizing workers because they can’t afford to live. We need elected officials to actually raise the frickin’ minimum wage. What is wrong with congress that they can’t see the direction the country is moving in?

MAHER: Well congress is half Republican they’re never going to vote for this. It’s not part of their philosophy. But the Democrats, if they would stop being distracted by all their bullshit issues and just concentrate on the minimum wage. I could give them like the three issues they could win every election on. It’s not rocket science.

Maher should really read George Liebmann’s piece “The Anti-Jeffersonian Party”, which further illuminates how the Democrats have abandoned populism and decentralization, and with them, the legacies of Jefferson (why else do you think NYC is removing Jefferson from NYC council chambers?) and Jackson here on The American Conservative. In the meantime, however, thankfully Jayaraman calls Maher on his bs and corrects him immediately.

JAYARAMAN: Republicans actually support raising the minimum wage!

Jayaraman goes on to describe a recent interaction that she had while protesting for a $15 minimum wage in Albany, New York wherein she ran into a group of MAGA rally attendees. The MAGA folks asked Jayaraman what she was making a fuss about, and, upon hearing her answer, they proceeded to join her! Believe us, you’ll NEVER see or hear about this story in the corporate press (and Bill Maher might get a spanky from his higher-ups at HBO for letting this conversation fly on his show – hey, that’s live television, folks!) – couldn’t let “the people” know that Advanced Citizens across the political spectrum agree on an issue, now could they?!

If you think there isn’t broad support for raising the national minimum wage on the Populist Right, may we direct you to Pedro Gonzalez explaining why conservatives should support it here and to Steve “The Based Godfather” Bannon pushing for a 44% marginal tax rate on very rich State Capitalists/Cultural Marxists here in 2017 (Spoiler Alert: The guys in Trump’s administration that opposed Bannon’s proposal in Trump’s administration? Those guys would be lifelong “Progressive” Democrats Steve Mnuchin and Gary Cohn) and again demanding higher taxes on the rich in 2021 rich in 2021 here.
